Job Title: Prep Chef/Kitchen Assistant

Location: Moss side/Hulme

Hours: 30-40 hrs per week

Department: Central Kitchen M16 7WD

Reports to: Supervisor

Overview

: As a Prep Chef, you will play a vital role in the culinary team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our central kitchen. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes in various tasks to facilitate our multiple locations.

Responsibilities:

Assist

the Cooks in overseeing all aspects of food production and kitchen operations.

Prepare

and

cook

menu items according to recipes, always ensuring consistency and quality.

Vac Pack

items of food in a quick and effective manner.

Inventory Management,

assist in inventory management tasks, including monitoring ingredient levels, restocking supplies, and rotating stock to minimise waste and ensure freshness.

Maintain

high standards of food quality, presentation, and flavour.

Maintain

a clean and organised kitchen environment.

Cleaning

day to day cleaning of utensils, pots and pans and any other items used throughout your shift.

Adhere

to all food safety and sanitation regulations.

What are we looking for:

Previous experience working as a prep chef or in a similar role within a high-volume restaurant or prep kitchen. Strong culinary skills and a passion for food, with a keen eye for detail and presentation. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and prioritising workload. Physical stamina for standing and lifting. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organised work environment. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
