Employer: Dispharma Retail Ltd (trading as My Local Chemist)
Location: 183 Alum Rock Road, Birmingham
Contract: Part-time, 30 hours per week, permanent (includes a Saturday rota)
Training: NHS-funded pathway to Level 4 Pharmacy Technician, leading to Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification (with vaccination training when eligible)
Why this role exists
We're a busy, community-focused pharmacy (~7,000 Rx items/month) with room to grow our retail and clinical services. We're shifting so the pharmacist focuses on clinical care. As a PTPT, you'll strengthen day-to-day operations, patient flow and retail standards -- while living our Points of Culture every day. At the end of the programme, you'll qualify as a Level 4 Pharmacy Technician and progress to become an Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT), playing a key role in the safe, efficient supply of medicines.
Key responsibilities
Operations & Compliance
Take ownership of agreed operational tasks -- e.g. recording fridge temperatures, checking stock expiry dates, maintaining a clean/organised workspace, and producing monthly staff rotas.
Keep SOPs current for your areas and support audit/inspection readiness.
Support medicines management and workflow efficiency within the scope of a PTPT role.
Dispensary & Patient Support
Safe, efficient dispensing under supervision; help triage workload (walk-ins/EPS/deliveries).
Patient communications: call-backs, owing management and clear ETAs to reduce repeat chasing.
Retail & Service Promotion
Implement and maintain merchandising standards on agreed fixtures.
Coordinate seasonal activity and signpost paid/NHS services appropriately.
Assist with simple local marketing execution (windows, leaflets, counter prompts) and online booking flows where relevant.
Service Readiness
Prepare the consultation room and documentation for clinics (flu/COVID, etc.).
After eligibility and training, support/deliver vaccinations in scope.
