Spen Pharmacy is a busy, community-focused independent pharmacy in Cleckheaton. We're investing in our team so the pharmacist can focus more on clinical care, while our support staff drive safe, efficient day-to-day operations.
Record fridge temperatures and complete routine safety checks
Rotate stock and check expiry dates
Keep the dispensary, workbenches and consultation room clean and organised
Support audit and inspection readiness; follow SOPs consistently
Dispensary & patient support
Support accurate dispensing under the supervision of a pharmacist
Help manage workload (walk-ins, EPS prescriptions, deliveries, urgent requests)
Make patient call-backs, manage owings and give clear, realistic timeframes
Service support
Prepare the consultation room and paperwork for clinics (e.g. flu/COVID)
Support the delivery of NHS services and health campaigns after training
Development
Complete all elements of the
PTPT training programme
over 24 months
Work with your supervisor and training provider to meet learning milestones
Take responsibility for your own learning and welcome feedback
What we're looking for
Essential
Someone who likes
structure, checklists and finishing tasks properly
Clear, confident communicator with a calm, patient-first approach
Comfortable working in a
busy community pharmacy
environment
IT-literate and confident using computer systems
Some dispensing experience
in community pharmacy
Willing and able to commit to a
24-month PTPT training programme
and progress to registration as a Pharmacy Technician
Desirable
Previous community or retail pharmacy experience
Experience with
ProScript
, Titan or other PMR systems
Experience supporting vaccination clinics or NHS services
Any basic training in first aid, safeguarding or health & safety
