The Pre-Sales Software Engineer plays a critical role in shaping the software element of Inteq's warehouse automation solutions. Sitting at the intersection of Sales, Solutions, and Delivery, this role supports the Senior Sales Executives by owning the software discovery, demonstration, and definition phases of the sales cycle.
The purpose of the role is to clearly define and communicate software requirements, deliver tailored demonstrations of Inteq's IWS platform (WMS, WCS, WES), and translate complex technical concepts into business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This ensures that proposed solutions are accurate, scalable, deliver maximum value, and are aligned to customer needs -- enabling successful project delivery and long-term client satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Support sales engagements by defining, demonstrating, and detailing Inteq's IWS software capabilities across WMS, WCS, and WES domains.
Engage directly with prospects and clients to understand operational challenges, software requirements, and integration needs.
Deliver tailored, compelling product demonstrations that clearly communicate value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Work with Solution Designers to ensure seamless alignment between software and automation components of the proposed solution.
Translate client discussions into clear, structured functional specifications and configuration outlines for IWS.
Create high-quality proposal content including process narratives, system architecture overviews, and feature specifications.
Identify requirements for customisation or integration and liaise with the software development team to validate feasibility and estimate effort/costs.
Contribute to the development of scalable, reusable demo environments and pre-sales collateral.
Support internal handover to delivery teams, ensuring clarity of scope and functional understanding.
Stay current with developments in warehouse software, automation technology, and customer needs.
Feedback to internal teams on market requirements to aid product roadmap and commercial proposition development
Work Environment & Role Requirements:
This role may require occasional travel to warehouse and logistics sites.
The position may involve working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Qualifications & Experience:
3+ years in a pre-sales, business analysis, solutions consulting or software engineering role with direct customer engagement.
Strong understanding of warehouse software platforms (WMS, WCS, WES) and their role in warehouse automation ecosystems.
Ability to translate operational workflows and technical requirements into clear, actionable software specifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Proven experience delivering software demonstrations and facilitating requirements workshops.
Familiarity with software and hardware integration concepts, APIs, and ERP/WMS interfacing.
Detail-oriented and commercially aware, with the ability to balance client needs with technical constraints.
Desirable:
Experience working with or for warehouse software vendors, automation integrators, or WMS/WCS providers.
Exposure to software development processes, agile methodologies, and requirement documentation.
Understanding of warehouse operations, automation systems, and fulfilment strategies.
Ability to use tools for flow mapping and interface definition.
Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems for opportunity and engagement tracking.
