Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preschool Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives through engaging activities, effective management, and leadership within the classroom setting.

Duties

Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards Manage daily classroom routines, ensuring a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for children Lead and supervise children during playtime, educational activities, and mealtimes Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to support children's progress and well-being Maintain accurate records of children's development and behaviour Foster positive behaviour management strategies to encourage cooperation and respect among children Collaborate with other staff members to develop curriculum plans and organise special events or programmes

Requirements

Proven experience working with children in childcare or nursery settings Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Ability to build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues Organised with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently Childcare qualifications or nursery experience are highly advantageous

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Zero hours contract

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 12.5 - 32.5 per week
