is a small, independent preschool in the Halesowen area. We are passionate about childcare and we are committed to staff professional development in order to improve the care and learning experiences for our children.
We care for up to 32 children per session aged from 2 years old up to school age. We operate in one room and have a large outside area.
Teamwork is of the utmost importance to us and staff welfare is a key element of our setting.
We are a packaway setting so the job will require some physical lifting. We are open from 9am to 3pm and require staff to be available for setting up from 8.15am and stay until 3.15pm if required.

The job role:
We require a full time manager to join our team. The job is term time only. No holiday is allowed in term time and you will be paid holiday on top of your salary.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Preschool Manager to oversee the daily operations of our early years pack away setting. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of early childhood education and a commitment to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine desire to give children the best possible opportunities to gain skills to be school ready.
You will be required to complete Child Protection training provided by our Local Authority and your induction will include in house induction training on Safeguarding Children, British Values and Prevent.
Safeguarding is deeply embedded into our ethos and throughout your employment you are welcomed to further enhance your knowledge
About you:
The applicant
must
possess a minimum of Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
Qualifications
o A recognised qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (Level 3 or above), with at least 3 years experience in a setting.
Paediatric First Aid certificate (desirable, training can be provided if necessary)
o A minimum of 2 years management experience in a setting.
o Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
o Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
o Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to build relationships with children, parents, staff and outer agencies.
o A commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare.
o Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all documentation

Reports to the Preschool Owner
The manager should support the Owner to ensure all statutory and safeguarding duties are followed. To achieve this the manager's job description is as follows:
1/ PRE-SCHOOL
To be responsible for organising, running and planning all aspects of the pre-school.
To be responsible for drawing up long term, medium term and sessional curriculum plans which ensure that each child is working towards Early Learning Goals/Foundation Stage Curriculum; to monitor the effectiveness of the pre-school curriculum
To be responsible for providing a high quality of teaching, ensuring that staff are properly deployed and offer appropriate stimulation and support to the children
To draw up and to supervise the daily programme of pre-school activities and events
To be responsible for implementing systems of observation and record keeping so that children's attainment and progress are effectively and regularly assessed; to monitor the effectives of assessment procedures
To organise the keyworker system and to effectively supervise staff on a daily basis; to be responsible for monitoring the quality of teaching
To ensure that the playgroup is a safe environment for children, staff and others, that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, safety procedures are implemented at all times and fire drills are regularly practiced
To prepare and take the pre-school through Ofsted inspections as required.
To work within Child Protection procedures
To ensure that Health and Safety requirements are maintained
To supervise meals and mealtimes, preparing healthy snacks
Ability to work with Special Needs children and identify any problems a child may have in their Early Years. Working/liaising with SENCO.
To fulfil the dusties of the DSL
Support a key group of children - including planning for key group time sessions
2/ LIASON
To keep the Business Owner informed as required as to progress and developments within the preschool.
To work with other agencies as necessary in respect of pre-school children and attend meetings as required.
To hold parent meetings as requred.
To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the pre-school and its curriculum, exchanging information about children's progress and encouraging parents' involvement
3/ ADMINISTRATION
To keep thorough records of attendance, curriculum plans, accidents and children's educational, emotional and intellectual development.
To maintain preschool information, publicity and display boards.
To maintain, contribute to and to implement all pre-school policies and procedures, to include Equal Opportunities
Ability to record and pass on information accurately
4/ GENERAL
To attend courses and conferences as required.
To liaise with the Busines owner, social services and other professionals as necessary and ensure that all legal and statutory requirements are implemented; to provide reports as required
To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Business Owner
5/STAFF MANAGEMENT
Responsible for a team of full and part-time staff
To hold staff meetings
To follow the staff appraisal system and to identify in-service training needs
To manage staffing levels within the setting to comply with required ratios
