JOB VACANCY - PRE-SCHOOL PRACTITIONER

Muddy Puddles Nursery and Out of School Club Ditton,

Ditton Community Centre, Kiln Barn Road, Ditton, ME20 6AH

We are looking for a Pre-School Practitioner to join our vibrant caring team of early years professional's.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with children aged from 2 to 11 year olds and cover in our Breakfast and After School Club.

it is desirable that applicants have a minimum of 2 years experience of working in a pre-school setting and relevant childcare qualification at Level 2 or 3, however applicants willing to train could be considered.

This role is term time only, Monday to Thursday from 7.30am to 12.30pm. We are open Monday to Friday 7.30am - 6pm with our Pre-School and Out of school Clubs so you may be needed for flexible hours on occasions.

In order to meet the requirements and demands of this role, you will need to meet the following criteria (along with meeting and understanding the ''):

To have a warm smiling face that makes a child feel special.

Can laugh at jokes that they don't understand, or don't find funny.

Preferably has a little quirkiness.

If a child requests that they be a captain of a pirate ship, they will be the best captain they can be!

Feels comfortable telling everyone in the same room they are going to the toilet!

Doesn't have to have the ability to be able to sing in tune but must have the confidence to sing out of tune in front of a crowd.

Must be able to distribute warm hugs, as and when required regardless of what may run down their back.

Must possess the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people. This is of the utmost importance.

Must have the ability to pretended to eat play dough creations realistically. This is an essential requirement along with drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.

Must be able to read a ten-page story, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page.

Must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of the day.

Loves being outside come rain or shine. At Muddy Puddles we love the great outdoors.

To be able to manage own paperwork for key-children, electronically (through Tapestry online learning journal) and have a good understanding of writing with correct grammar and punctuation for this aspect of the role.

Excellent communication skills are essential, also a good understanding of the English language.

Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families. There is simply no other job quite like it.

Essential Requirements (All can be obtained through Muddy Puddles)

- DBS Certificate/Clean criminal record

- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

- Paediatric First Aid Certificate

- Safeguarding Children Certificate
