We are a community based Preschool that opened in January 2021. We are looking to increase our staff team due to increased demand. Hours are 8.00 am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday and start date will be tailored to the right candidate. Ideally start date as soon as possible.
As a preschool practitioner you will assist in the day-to-day organisation of the preschool, under the direction of the managers to provide care and a safe, high quality learning environment for the children who attend Hound Owls. You will follow all our preschool policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities
Planning:
To assist with the planning of the curriculum by providing safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities for all children within an inclusive environment. You will be responsible for preparing and organising activities. You will also ensure all children have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop. This will be done by assisting with the planning within the setting, giving ideas that will reflect the needs of your key children and participating in the evaluation of activities provided.
Parent partnership:
We have fantastic parent partnership at Hound Owls and would like you to carry on encouraging parental involvement and support through the development of effective working relationships.
Children:
You will act as a key worker to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers to ensure individual needs are met. You will be responsible for observations and record keeping relating to the progress and development of key children. Knowledge of Tapestry is desirable, but training can be given.
Risk:
You will ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with statutory requirements and advise the preschool supervisor of any concerns over children and equipment.
You will ensure that the preschool offers the highest standards of physical & emotional care, health & safety and personal & food hygiene at all times.
You will actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring setting policies and procedures are observed at all times.
Professional development:
You will have a positive approach to continuous professional development, through identifying your own developmental needs and attending courses as encouraged or directed by the preschool Managers.
Additional:
We are a pack away setting and you will be required to help with the setting up and clearing away of the setting. Manual handling training will be given to help with this.
Staff uniform will be provided.
Parking on site, public transport links are close by.
You will keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is required as part of the job.
Staff ideally will be need to qualified to at least level 2 or 3 qualified in Childcare.
Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
