We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Preschool Room Leader to join our team at The YMCA Essex Nursery and Childcare services. The YMCA Essex is an inclusive Christian charity rooted in local community, working with people of all faiths and people of none to meet the needs of children, young people and their families.

It is essential that our Preschool Room Leader has:
Previous experience managing a room within a childcare setting
Qualified level 3 in childcare or above
A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
A thorough knowledge of safeguarding procedures
. To be able to create and deliver high quality activities tailored to children's individual needs
. Support and drive the team to enhance and environment that will increase a child's awe and wonder
Room leader key responsibilities:
To have a full understanding of and implement the EYFS Framework. Supporting the team overseeing planning and record keeping.
Promote and facilitate partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
To ensure the duties and processes required by Ofsted are in place and that they are regularly reviewed, and new processes are being implemented as and when required.
To have a strong commitment to uphold the companies' policies on Safeguarding Children, Young People & Vulnerable Adults, and to have the desire to want to work with Children and families and make a difference to their lives.
To ensure that the Policies and Procedures of the Childcare Department and those of the YMCA are carried out, reviewed as necessary and are understood fully.
To ensure that risk assessments are carried out on a regular basis for all areas that staff and children access and all activities they may take part in and to ensure the implementation of Health and Safety Regulations are in place.
To make a commitment to understand and uphold the Mission and Values of the YMCA so that we make a difference to young people and their lives.
To have an understanding to keep a balance between the Christian, charitable and commercial aspects of the Association's work.
