Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Pre-School Room Leader to join a boutique nursery in Wandsworth. The setting offers a creative, nurturing, and bilingual learning environment for children from 6 months to 5 years, enriched with music, drama, outdoor exploration, and chef-prepared meals.
As Pre-School Room Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the learning environment, inspiring your team, and ensuring children receive outstanding care and education every day.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and support a team of Early Years Practitioners in the Pre-School room.
Deliver a broad, engaging curriculum that blends structured learning with creativity, bilingual practice, and nature-based experiences.
Ensure high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing, and developmental outcomes for all children.
Build strong partnerships with parents, maintaining clear and supportive communication.
Collaborate with management and colleagues to uphold the nursery's boutique ethos and professional standards.
Drive continuous professional development for yourself and your team.
Ensure policies, procedures, and EYFS requirements are consistently met.
Person Specification
Qualifications
: Minimum Level 3 in Early Years Education (CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent). Candidates withQTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) are highly desirable.Experience
: Previous experience as a Room Leader, Deputy Room Leader, or strong Senior Practitioner.Leadership
: Confident team leader, able to inspire, mentor, and manage staff effectively.Knowledge
: Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and child development.Skills
: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with warmth, empathy, and professionalism.Benefits
