Shere Surgery and Dispensary is seeking a reliable and organised prescription clerk to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will support the clinical and administrative team by processing prescription requests efficiently and accurately, ensuring patients receive their medications safely and on time. This is a part-time position, working times can be flexible and discussed at interview. t
The main responsibilities of the role include:
Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 72 hours. This includes checking email requests, requests via patient phone line and answering machine.
Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
Distribution medications to patients for collection.
Medicine management - liaising and discussing any enquires or queries raised by the clinical team.
General ad hoc administration work.
Flexibility to cover other areas when required - multi-skill mix.
Keep up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.

To be considered for this position, you will have the following;
Experience in a GP surgery or pharmacy setting preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
IT literate with experience of clinical systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of The Emis Clinical would be an advantage.
Skills
Previous office experience is highly desirable
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
Administrative experience with a focus on clerical tasks
Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Proficient typing skills for accurate data entry
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
