We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused administrator to join our friendly team. This is a varied role, split between:
Prescription Clerk duties
- helping ensure safe, accurate, and timely processing of prescriptions.
Long-Term Conditions (LTC) admin support
- coordinating patient recalls, booking reviews, and coding information to support safe, high-quality patient care.
You'll be part of an established team, working closely with the Lead Pharmacist, Lead Nurse, GPs, and wider admin staff to keep our systems running smoothly and patients well supported.
Duties
Process repeat prescription requests, ensuring safety checks and timely turnaround.
Liaise with patients, pharmacies, and clinicians regarding prescriptions and queries.
Contact patients to arrange and follow up on long-term condition reviews.
Manage recall systems, coding, and questionnaires to ensure accurate records.
Work flexibly across both sites, providing cover for prescription clerk duties.
Essential
Previous experience in an administrative role in a healthcare or customer service setting.
Strong attention to detail with ability to follow processes accurately.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Competent in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and Excel (training provided if required).
Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
Commitment to confidentiality, data protection, and safeguarding.
Professional and courteous manner when dealing with patients and staff.
Desirable
Previous experience as a prescription clerk, pharmacy assistant, or similar role.
Knowledge of medicines management, prescribing processes, or NHS repeat prescription systems.
Experience of working with recall systems and QOF/LTC administration.
Familiarity with EMIS, AccuRx.
Understanding of medical terminology and clinical coding.
Experience in patient-facing communications (telephone or in-person).
Additional Information
Prescription clerk cover required regularly on Thursdays and Fridays, with flexibility to cover additional days during absences/annual leave.
The postholder will be required to work across both practice sites.
Training and induction will be provided.
Full-time role: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
