About the Role




Highlands Surgeryhas an opportunity for a prescription clerk to join our busy prescribing team, at the heart of our patient care service. This role is offered on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week to be worked over 3-4 days.



The main responsibilities of the role include:


Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 72 hours. This includes checking emails and tasks. Responding to all queries and requests from patients, chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions. Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in patient records. Sending out medication review invites. Organising blood tests (through ICE system) or blood pressure checks for patients, relevant to their prescribing needs. General ad hoc administration work. Keep up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.





About the Candidate





To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate will:


Possess experience of working in a busy, environment. Be flexible, with a positive attitude. Demonstrate good team working and communication skills. Demonstrate an excellent standard of patient care.
General practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage.

Our practice is led by three GP partners and supported by three salaried GPs, experienced long-term locums, four dedicated practice nurses, an advanced nurse practitioner (ANP), and an in-house pharmacist. We are also a key part of our Primary Care Network (PCN), offering access to services such as social prescribers, emergency care practitioners (ECPs), and MSK clinicians.
