Job Description

We are looking for an experienced prescriptions clerk / medical receptionist to work in a very busy GP surgery in Stockport. We are a friendly surgery with a large reception team and hope to add to the team as soon as possible.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable person to join our friendly well established team bringing skills which will enhance the patient experience at the practice. The main element of the role will be to process repeat prescription requests, there will also be some reception/telephone duties and the successful candidate will sometimes be required to provide sickness and annual leave cover

Your main duties will include:

Process repeat prescription requests, online and paper Completing workflow tasks Liaising with the clinical team Receiving patients at the reception desk in a n efficient and courteous manner Making appointments on the computer system - EMIS Dealing with patient requests & queries Some general admin
The hours of work are 16 per week to include 1 late finish. A degree of flexibility around hours is required.

You must have relevant experience in a medical practice, be IT literate and have a knowledge of EMIS and Docman. It is a busy, ever changing environment and the successful candidate must be flexible and able to adapt easily to changes. You must be able to work under pressure , be confident using the phone and be able to deal with people who may be angry or upset.

Training and uniform will be provided.

Pay: From 12.21 per hour
