Techniquest- a leading science discovery centre in the heart of Cardiff Bay - is seeking enthusiastic and customer focussed Presenter Coach to support our Operations and Education Teams.

The role offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that sparks curiosity and inspires learning through science.

Presenter coaches design and lead the ongoing training and development of the Live Science Host team who deliver the suite of shows available at Techniquest. You will be responsible for the planning, delivering and evaluation of training and shows that run. You will also be responsible for updating the offerings to ensure public engagement with STEAM topics and alignment with the Curriculum for Wales

This role requires a competent and confident science communicator who can present a wide gamut of topics to audiences of all ages but also ensure the Live Science Host team can present in these situations as well. The Presenter Coach role supports all presentation activities in the theatre, lab, planetarium and busking activities on the exhibition floor.

A Presenter Coach ensures the resources, materials and supporting documents for shows are updated and accurate, with a continual effort to update, ensure accuracy and revitalise programmes.

You will work closely with the Engagement Manager to ensure high quality, relevant science communication with the continual iteration of programmes. The role works with the Front of House Team to cover all training and development needs in a timely manner with minimal disruption to Techniquest's public and schools offering, including delivering programmes as needed.

Evening, weekend, and bank holiday work will be required at times as part of the role.



Key Responsibilities:



Plan and deliver effective and thorough training to Live Science Hosts, ensuring all aspects of a programme are covered, from health and safety, how to demonstrate and explain topics, and how to best engage different audiences. Review and update programmes with as they come up to ensure scientific accuracy, the latest research, best practice and alignment with the Curriculum for Wales. While also keeping them entertaining and engaging for target audiences. Review and update health and safety documents including risk assessments and procedure sheets for demonstrations. Ensure changes are communicated clearly to all stakeholders and documentation updated to match. Evaluate?the performance of presenters and?assess the impact?of engagement programmes through?direct observations, audience feedback, and performance reviews. Oversee maintenance, cleanliness and readiness of the science theatre, planetarium and KLA lab. Manage the stock levels and equipment for each of these space in preparation for shows. Support the Engagement Manager in the development of new programmes and offerings.
