Summary:




This role focuses on developing, maintaining and improving our understanding of customer behaviour and profitability analytics, together with the financial models that underpin forecasting, stress testing and decision support for the business units. They will also lead model validation, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance through rigorous testing (e.g., stress and sensitivity analysis). Model outputs will directly support regulatory compliance, long-range planning and scenario-based decision-making so it is critical to embed model governance and maintaining PBSs modelling standards.


The role holder will provide commercial insight and modelling expertise to inform and challenge product participation and pricing strategies, ensuring alignment to the Societys risk appetite, funding position, capital positions and margin expectations. This includes scenario modelling to support new product launches and pricing changes, working closely with Product Managers to optimise competitiveness and profitability.


Responsible for developing tools, specifying data requirements and implementing strategic methodologies to facilitate effective trading decisions. Conducting insightful scenario analyses to inform strategic direction and forecasting, including risk/reward impact assessment of multiple business strategies.


The role holder will utilise advanced analytics and data-driven approaches to gain deep insights into customer behaviour within our portfolio. Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to enhance customer experience, retention, and lifetime value.

The Role:



Design, develop and maintain pricing frameworks and financial models to forecast, stress test and evaluate product performance, assess trade-offs, and support real-time pricing decisions across the portfolio Collaborate with Balance Sheet Management to ensure pricing decisions reflect funding costs, liquidity needs, and interest rate risk considerations Development of Customer Behavioural Curves, portfolio analytics and vintage tracking to better understand customer behaviour and profitability and inform tactical and longer-term decisions Work closely with the Product teams, leading on financial modelling and scenario analysis to support pricing proposals, re-pricing activity, and the design of new propositions. Provide robust challenge and insight to ensure alignment with financial targets, customer needs, and market conditions Establish process for forecast assumption monitoring, automating and reducing manual production as far as possible Co-own the implementation and monitoring of model governance controls, ensuring all models used reflect industry practice and adhere to internal model risk management requirements, including developing robust model validation processes to ensure reliability under different scenarios Promote best practice in model development by contributing to documentation, standards, and cross-functional knowledge sharing Ad-hoc modelling and analytical support as determined by the Senior Finance Business Partner / Business unit leader Build tools to enable integrated impact assessment of decisions (across portfolio, profitability, capital, etc). Work with other experts to develop a standard of best practice to be utilised by others

Take responsibility for delivery of outcomes Commitment to deliver and maintain high standards Challenge convention and empower others to deliver Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and communications skills both written and verbal Effectively prioritise tasks to ensure delivery meets critical deadlines Strive to continuously improve Good knowledge of financial services analytics, capital and liquidity Excellent understanding of data warehouses, manipulation of large data sets and analytical techniques Advanced Excel skills Understanding of various statistical validation methods and their application Ability to identify and interpret asset and liability product finance behaviours and characteristics Ability to create advanced analysis, data and financial models and queries through efficient use of coding language (e.g. SQL, VBA, SAS, Python, R etc) Ability to transform data into accessible information through use of visualisation tools e.g. PowerBI, Tableau Degree qualified in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Finance, Computing or Engineering Relevant professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA, ACT/CERTBALM/CFA)

Desirable (but not essential):



Worked in a Pricing, Modelling or Analytics function in a financial services institution Experience creating behavioural customer profile analytics and building financial models An excellent working knowledge of Retail (ideally mortgage and savings) and Commercial Banking products Experience in statistical analysis and delivering projects based on stakeholder requirements Experience in driving cross-functional capability uplift * Line management experience
