Art Therapist - One Day per Week - Brent Primary School

SANZA Teaching Agency is proud to support the recruitment of an Art Therapist for a primary school located in Brent. We are working closely with the school to find a skilled and compassionate individual to join their team and provide art therapy services to their students.

Position: Art Therapist Location: Brent, London Contract Type: Part-time (One day per week)

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide art therapy services to students within the school setting
• Assess students\' emotional and psychological needs and develop individualized therapy plans
• Utilize art materials and creative techniques to facilitate expression, communication, and healing
• Work with students individually or in small groups to address a range of emotional and behavioral issues
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students\' overall well-being and progress
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of therapy sessions and student progress
• Attend regular meetings and liaise with the school\'s pastoral team and leadership
• Stay updated with best practices and research in art therapy and relevant areas of psychology

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Qualified Art Therapist with relevant professional certification and/or membership (e.g., HCPC, BAAT)
• Experience working as an Art Therapist, preferably within an educational or child-focused setting
• Strong understanding of child development, mental health, and the therapeutic benefits of art
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students
• Empathy, patience, and sensitivity in working with children who may have emotional or behavioral challenges
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
