We are looking to recruit an individual who is experienced in working within primary care as a receptionist or administrator to join our team here at Bramhall Health Centre.
Main duties of the job
This role will include general reception work including answering the phones, welcoming patients on the front desk and helping with queries such as checking in, taking prescription requests and helping to book appointments. You will also take payments for private work and hand out collections of records and letters.
This role will include being trained in other areas of admin that traditionally has been siloed into separate departments. This will give you plenty of variety in your role and develop your depth of knowledge and understanding across the wider system. This will include processing prescription requests, scanning letters, recalling patients for monitoring and completing registrations. This is by no mean an exhaustive list.

We are a practice consisting of 12,000 patients with a team of 35 staff, including doctors, nurses, health care assistants and the non-clinical team. We are based in the lovely village of Bramhall, close to the shops and the train station which is situated nicely for commuting and for accessing local amenities whilst travelling to and from work, or visiting on break times.

Job Summary:
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Summarise and Read Code relevant information from patient's clinical records, hospital correspondence and other sources into the Practice computer systems, working strictly in accordance with the practice notes summarising and read code protocols.
Provide general assistance to the Practice team a0nd project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
Job Responsibilities
1. Administration
To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.

Read coding and Summarising
Recall and Quality Outcomes Framework activity
Process Prescription requests and distribute work out on a daily basis
2. Reception
Answering the phones to help patients with queries related to appointments, test results and general enquiries
Receiving patients at the front desk who need assistance with booking in and general enquiries
Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
Taking deliveries and notifying the person responsible for the delivery
Pulling/filing notes for surgeries and update as necessary
Filing post in medical records
Completing Emis and Docman tasks as directed
Completing Triage Admin on the days rotad in to support the duty GP allocate appointments and manage communications
3. Other Tasks
Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
Any other tasks allocated by managers

In the performance of the duties outlined in this , the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, Practice staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information relating to the Practice as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential
Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the Practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the Practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data
