Thank you very much for your interest in applying to be a Learning and Attendance Mentor in the Primary Phase at William Hulme's Grammar School (WHGS). This is a key pastoral role designed to support pupils in
overcoming barriers to learning and improving their attendance, wellbeing, and academic progress.
We are seeking a committed and compassionate individual to work closely with pupils, families, and staff across the Primary Phase. The role involves one-to-one mentoring, home visits, tracking attendance data, and working with pupils who require additional support to engage fully with school life. You will also be responsible for writing and maintaining Personal Education Plans (PEPs) for looked-after children, ensuring their educational needs are clearly identified and met through collaboration with staff and external professionals. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong interpersonal skills, a solution-focused mindset, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive both in and outside the classroom
