Job Description

Sporting World have positions for School Sports Coaches on part-time and full time hours. Hours will vary depending on your skills, qualifications, location and experience.

The current hours available are in the Shepton Mallet area.

Person Specification:

It is essential that the successful candidate is qualified to at least:

NGB Level 2 coaching qualification in at least one sport Full driving licence, access to own transport and willing to travel High level of coaching ability and confidence Minimum of 2 years previous experience working in schools, leading sessions, working with various chidlren, and maintaining control of large groups
It is desirable that the successful candidate has a:

Range of NGB Level 1 or higher qualifications in a variety of sports Current First Aid qualification (must be completed prior to commencement of post). Current Safeguarding and Protecting Children qualification (must be completed prior to commencement of post) Knowledge and experience of the primary national curriculum
Each application will be asked to attend an in-depth interview followed by a 30 minute coaching session in a School

The position of Sports Coach will involve the following duties and responsibilities:

To effectively plan, deliver and evaluate a range of high quality multiskill and sport-specific sessions To promote the organisation and its services within schools and the community To attend in house training courses Ability to build good relationships with pupils, school staff members and parents Possess excellent communication skills Are motivated to perform well Prioritise the welfare and safety of the young people they are responsible for Are enthusiastic and innovative Are punctual and organised Are able to work effectively on own initiative, and as part of a team
