Job Description

We are looking for a flexible and dedicated Primary School Cover Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing temporary teaching coverage across various classes and subjects, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of regular teachers. The cover teacher will adapt to different classroom environments and maintain high educational standards.

Key Responsibilities:



Instruction and Delivery:

Deliver pre-planned lessons in core subjects such as Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, Business Studies and more. Adapt teaching methods to suit the needs of different classes and age groups. Ensure that students remain engaged and on-task during lessons.

Classroom Management:

Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment. Implement effective classroom management strategies to handle any behavioral issues. Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

Adaptability and Flexibility:

Quickly familiarize yourself with lesson plans and classroom routines. Be prepared to cover different subjects and grade levels as needed. Adapt to the varying needs and dynamics of different classrooms.

Communication and Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as necessary. Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure a smooth transition between lessons. Provide feedback to regular teachers on students' progress and any issues encountered.

Professional Development:

Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices. Stay informed about the school's policies and procedures.

Additional Duties:

Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-classroom activities. Assist with administrative tasks as required. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or school administration.

Qualifications:



Education:

Bachelor's degree (Preferable).

Experience:

Previous experience as a teaching assistant at the primary school level is preferred. Experience with diverse student populations and inclusive education practices.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to quickly adapt to different classroom environments. Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools. Must have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding concepts. Training will be provided if required.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Zero hours contract

Pay: From 97.68 per day

Expected hours: No less than 8 per week
