Staff understand each pupil and their individual needs. Cornerstone provides support, specific to each pupil. In class, pupils engage and are enthusiastic about their learning. Most pupils arrive with significant gaps in their knowledge. However, they make great strides in their social development and behaviour. This enables pupils to make the smooth transition back into a mainstream setting or a specialist provision when the time is right.

Pupils benefit from highly positive relationships with staff, consistent routines and praise. They understand what the school expects from them. This helps pupils to feel safe, secure and to thrive. The atmosphere around school is warm, calm and purposeful. Pupils are routinely supported to understand their emotions. They demonstrate positive behaviour in class and around the school. Our current facilities cater for up to 30 primary aged students; we offer a structured and positive learning experience, we have an outstanding dedicated team, able to provide emotional support in a safe and supportive environment.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the outcomes for young people in our growing school. This position is initially to cover a maternity leave post until the end of Summer Term 2026, with the possibility of an extension and / or to apply for any permanent role due to our school expansion from September 2026 when we hope to expand.

We are recruiting a Teacher for our growing AP and School Expansion in Cheshire East. Cornerstone currently has two small AP schools and we are hoping to expand from September 2026. We cater for young people in KS1, KS2 and, with our expansion into KS3 from hopefully September 2026, we will offer AP provisions and a new SEN School for KS1, KS2 & KS3 pupil with SEMH and ASD. Our teachers will have the support of therapeutic support staff and a family of support workers to support pupils and families.

We opened our doors for the first time in January 2019 in a temporary building, and have expanded into new school buildings in Crewe and Sandbach. Our specialism provides high quality teaching and therapeutic care for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. Our staff team is highly skilled and able to adapt, providing personalised education, support and care for all learners. Taking the time to understand the differences of our learners our support can be truly tailored to their specific needs.
