Primary Tutor - Newtownabbey

Do you have a passion for teaching and a drive to help young learners build strong foundations in their education? We're looking for enthusiastic and skilled Primary Tutors to join our team in Newtownabbey. If you have solid experience teaching or tutoring at the primary level and a strong understanding of the Northern Ireland curriculum, we'd love to hear from you!

Role Overview

Deliver engaging one-to-one or small group sessions across core primary subjects (English, Maths, and others as needed). Support students from Key Stage 1 up to Key Stage 2. Design fun, interactive, and personalised lesson plans to meet each child's needs. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates and feedback.

Requirements

Essential:

Degree-level qualification, ideally in Education or a related subject. Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience at the primary level. Strong knowledge of the Northern Ireland Primary Curriculum. Excellent communication skills with the ability to make learning enjoyable and clear. Professional, reliable, approachable, patient, and supportive attitude.

Preferred:

Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent). Experience supporting children with additional learning needs.

What to Expect

Short teaching demonstration as part of the application process. Preference for candidates able to commit for at least 1 year. All sessions are conducted in person at our Newtownabbey location.

Key Details

Pay:

20-30 per hour (depending on lesson type and level).

Hours:

4-25 hrs/week.

Schedule:

Flexible (weekdays & weekends).
