We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Accountant to join our Finance Team and play a pivotal role in delivering robust financial management, strategic planning, and statutory compliance across the Council.
As Principal Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing key financial processes including revenue budgeting, annual accounts, treasury management, and statutory returns. You'll provide expert financial advice to senior managers, support service planning, and ensure the Council's financial operations meet legislative and audit standards.
This role includes managerial responsibility for team members and you'll also deputise for the Section 151 Officer, representing the Council at senior meetings and authorising critical financial decisions.
