What you will do:
Are you an experienced actuarial or financial modelling professional with a passion for leadership and insight-driven decision-making? We're seeking a dynamic individual to help lead our Pensions Insights and Modelling (PIM) team.
In this role, you'll provide expert modelling advice to support regulatory objectives and manage a team of actuarial modellers. You'll lead the governance, design, and operation of actuarial and financial models, ensuring they meet government analytical and professional standards.
You'll deliver high-quality, timely outputs that inform strategic decisions across the organisation and clearly communicate complex insights to a range of stakeholders. Your work will also contribute to the development of policy and regulatory positions through robust modelling and pension analysis.
The role criteria:
The successful candidate will be a strong leader with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively whilst using initiative to drive progress. We are looking for an experienced actuarial expert to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience.
Actuarial Expertise: Member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) with significant pensions and modelling experience, and an in-depth knowledge of the actuarial responsibilities and standards associated with the modelling of pension schemes and other financial markets.
Consulting & Leadership: Experience in a consulting environment, managing and training teams and delivering high-quality actuarial advice.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of UK pensions, financial markets, actuarial modelling (DB & DC), and relevant legislation.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving ability, especially in model development and risk analysis.
Collaboration: Proven ability to work across disciplines (eg legal, investment, data).
IT Skills: Advanced Excel (including VBA); quick to learn new software.

The Strategy, Policy, and Analysis directorate plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the pensions market by developing a regulatory framework that enables market innovation, and for strategic development and implementation right across TPR. As TPR's creative engine, it brings together strategy, policy, economics, external risk, and analysis, and use insights generated from our colleagues in Compliance & Enforcement Group and Market Oversight, as well as external sources, to evolve our regulatory framework and best direct our resources towards mitigating risks and delivering good saver outcomes.
