About us:

This opportunity sits within the growing and dynamic Business Transformation (Management Consulting) team, which is dedicated to enhancing clients\xe2\x80\x99 performance and realisation of business and stakeholder value.

Our Capital Programme Transformation practice: (CPT for short) sits within the Business Transformation team in Arcadis and our mission is to support our clients to \xe2\x80\x9cgenerate positive outcomes for people, planet and profit, from every capital investment, at an affordable cost.\xe2\x80\x9d

Our portfolio, programme and project management experts combine deep sector experience, with practical programme delivery and strategic insight working closely with broader technical, delivery and consulting skills from across Arcadis to provide both best practice market insights and practical implementation advice which enable our clients realise their outcomes. Our clients cover a wide range of sectors such as transport (road, rail, aviation), utilities (water, energy), real estate, financial institutions, manufacturing and technology.

In delivering its solutions, the practice works closely with Business Transformation colleagues who bring specialisms including digital transformation, asset management, procurement and supply chain and cultural change. We also work with technical and sector subject matter experts from around the world, to provide real market and category level insight. Through this unique blended approach, our solutions are holistic and deliver lasting and sustainable change into our clients and their supply chains, which engages and excites stakeholders.

Our service offering includes:

  • Capital Investment Advisory: Advising organisations in the Infrastructure and Built Environment on how to optimise their capital spend in order to maximise the returns on investment by structuring their capital portfolios.
  • Programme Benchmarking: Data-driven assessments of relative performance, utilising our proprietary tools as well as industry standard benchmarks such as P3M3.
  • Major Programme Mobilisation: Identifying, scoping, setting up and launching major programmes of activity to achieve clearly defined business outcomes at pace in a collaborative and controlled way.
  • Cost Efficiency: Identifying and implementing levers to deliver efficiencies into clients capital programmes.
  • Programme Controls & Assurance: Designing scalable and practical controls processes as well as assurance frameworks aligned to clients stakeholder environment and desired outcomes.
  • Programme Optimisation: Supporting clients with capital programmes in distress or with disruptive, regulatory or major changes to transform their programmes across process, people and systems and design effective operating and delivery approaches in order to ensure delivery of their business case and benefits realization on time and budget.
We are increasing the size of our team to support increased demand from both new and existing clients.

About the role:
  • Working on and leading client projects from sales / bidding to solution design and activity planning, successful delivery and knowledge capture.
  • Diagnosing and tackling complex capital programmes issues, across large-scale consulting engagements, designing and implementing solutions that demonstrate benefits and value delivered.
  • Analysing markets, trends, risks and opportunities, to provide fresh insights to clients.
  • Utilising insights, data and information to inform potential solutions, recommendations and outcomes to clients and stakeholders.
  • Delivering an exceptional client experience from project mobilisation through to handover, focusing on understanding client\xe2\x80\x99s needs, building lasting relationships and delivering on our promises.
  • Management of workstream resources, supporting people care, capability development and actively contributing to a high performing, inclusive culture on projects.
  • Active member of the capital programme transformation community of practice, supporting continuous development of our delivery approach and solutions.
  • Supporting capital programme management pursuits and sales.
  • Accountability for people and team development through line management of other team members.
  • Support the growth of Arcadis\xe2\x80\x99 Business Transformation Team through contribution to the Business Plan, pipeline and revenue generating activities.
About you:

Our team is recognised in the market for the quality of its people. Beyond expertise in one or more of our core consulting disciplines, you will need a strong intellect, the ability to articulate complex ideas persuasively and a talent for showing clients that we have the right solutions to their most pressing issues. Whilst potential is more important to us than experience, ideally you will also have at least some of the following key skills and expertise:
  • Demonstrable experience of programme / portfolio management in a relevant sector (Construction, Infrastructure, Water, Energy, Utilities, etc.)
  • Demonstrable track record of leading programme / portfolio management consulting projects in a relevant sector (Construction, Infrastructure, Water, Energy, Utilities, etc.).
  • A strong understanding of appropriate approaches, delivery models, processes and operating practices and how these can contribute to delivering successful programme outcomes.
  • Leadership of project work streams including management of consultants, analysts and client team members or comparable in an industry role.
  • Exceptional communication skills with experience of managing and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, excellent at building both internal and client relationships.
  • Demonstrable ability to understand and assess business problems, and build and communicate practical improvement recommendations
  • Ability to carry out market, trend and/or business/capital programme performance analysis
  • Relevant industry qualifications are preferable, including but not limited to, MSP (Managing Successful Programmes), MoR (Management of Risk), MoV (Management of Value) and/or Management of Portfolios (MoP) and/or a member of a relevant industry body, or the desire of working towards one; including, but not limited to, Association of Project Management (APM) and Management Consultancies Association (MCA).
  • Experience in one of the following areas within Portfolio, Programme and/or Project Management would also be an additional bonus:
  • Capital investment advisory and prioritisation
  • Programme / portfolio organisation design and operating models
  • Programme / portfolio Mobilisation and set up
  • Programme / portfolio re-prioritisation, recovery & optimisation
  • Programme / portfolio assurance, monitoring and control
  • Programme performance and efficiency management
  • Transformation Programme Management
  • Risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Programme / portfolio governance
  • Programme / portfolio reporting, data analytics and digitisation
