This is an opportunity to deliver nationally significant grid enhancements while helping to build and define a growing project engineering team.

About the Role




Lead the delivery of substation and grid connection projects from 33 kV to 400 kV, covering feasibility studies, FEED, and Owner's Engineer services. Act as a trusted advisor and technical authority, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs, managing resourcing, and ensuring successful outcomes.


Guide and develop a small team of consultants and project engineers, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and professional growth while maintaining a strong focus on quality, budget, and client satisfaction.


What You'll Do



Lead feasibility, FEED, and Owner's Engineer projects, ensuring quality and client satisfaction Provide technical oversight on substation and grid connection designs aligned with safety, standards, and regulation Represent technical and commercial positions with senior stakeholders Manage project resources and priorities across concurrent assignments Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver integrated engineering solutions Mentor and coach consultants and engineers, supporting their development Contribute to proposals, bids, and business development Champion curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement

What You Bring




Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline 15+ years of experience in transmission and distribution, with strong substation expertise Proven leadership in project delivery and resource coordination Experience delivering feasibility, FEED, and Owner's Engineer services Strong understanding of grid connections, renewable integration, and regulatory frameworks (TO, DNO, Grid Code) Chartered Engineer status or working toward it Strong communication, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management skills
