Incendium Consulting Ltd is a 7 year young, thriving consulting business, supporting corporate clients across all industries with their real estate and facilities transformation projects.

Within Incendium Consulting, we have 3 main practice areas:

  • Target Operating Model and Procurement
  • Sustainability
  • Strategy and change
We currently have c90 resources on client projects, split equally between employed and contractor and are looking to further expand our pool of trusted experts (preferably as full-time employees but we are very happy to discuss contracting too) to serve client needs.

Who are we hiring?

We are looking for a new Principal Consultant (this grade is also called Manager in some consulting practices) to join our UK and EMEA workplace consulting team, to support and lead strands of work within our projects. We are seeking a principal consultant, so previous experience is essential. In such a role the candidate will be expected to work fairly independently as part of a team and engage with a client team day to day. Our principal consultant will also take an active part in supporting initiatives within our thriving business.

As consultants, we are client facing the majority of the time, we are therefore typically partly based on client sites, partly working from our own office (London or others in the UK and EMEA depending on your location) and partly working remotely although the balance between those 3 varies greatly depending on the assignment.

What will you be responsible for?
  • Actively support business development activities with the wider team
  • Lead strands of work within our projects
  • Be an active Incendium ambassador
  • Seek continuous development for self and team
  • Support and help develop more junior staff members
What are we looking for?
  • Ability to translate a business strategy and client operational model into workplace strategy
  • Strategy, vision and concept development
  • Workplace related data collection and analysis \xe2\x80\x93 e.g. role types, agility needs
  • Experience in translating user needs into real estate planning parameters \xe2\x80\x93 e.g. sharing ratios, space types, space allocation
  • Workplace psychology capability would be useful
  • Experience in the facets of the Incendium workplace framework, i.e.:
  • Human (i.e. HR aspects, user groups, agility needs),
  • Physical (i.e. workplace layouts, design)
  • Digital elements of workplace (i.e. workplace enabling technologies)
  • Senior stakeholder engagement \xe2\x80\x93 e.g. exec workshops
  • User engagement \xe2\x80\x93 e.g. focus groups, staff surveys
  • Experience working in a major management consulting business (strongly beneficial)
  • Outstanding consulting skills and stakeholder engagement skills
  • At Incendium we do not define experience and skills in years, so purely as a guide as we often get asked, our principal consultants typically have at least 6 years experience in a similar environment
  • Some experience of managing and coaching more junior resources
  • Excellent analytical skills analysis
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills
  • Ability and interest in a very varied working day and ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Ability and experience of working in similar consulting projects
  • Ability to engage with client teams day to day
Experience in at least some of those is required:
  • Experience in workplace strategy and concept development
  • Experience in workplace projects and delivery of such
  • Experience in working with workplace design agencies
  • Process design
  • Business case development
  • Change management
  • Project Management
  • Communication planning
  • Professional qualifications are not mandatory but will be viewed favourably if relevant
