UK CMB Data & Analytics is building and transforming CMB Banking into a "data-driven" organisation that leads our competitors and inspires our employees. We are building a revolutionary data analytics ecosystem to generate business insights and provide great customer experience from well-managed and trusted data assets. We are seeking an experienced and competent person to join this team in the role of

Principal Data Analyst.



You will work within CMB Risk & Operations Analytics, which supports multiple business areas covering Risk, Regulatory Compliance, Service Recovery and Bank Operations. The team provides quality analytics and insight to help the business achieve its strategic goals be it meeting our regulatory obligations, driving revenue growth, identifying opportunities for improving customer experience, mitigating revenue loss, or supporting with business performance reporting.

In this role you will:



Collaborate with the Analytics Team Manager and engage with senior stakeholders within the bank to discern business priorities and understand analytical needs to shape and bolster business strategies Steer and execute on array of analytical and modelling projects from concept to completion Utilise advanced analytical solutions to extract information from a variety of data sources, translating complex data into comprehensible business language Contribute innovative ideas for projects, demonstrating keen business acumen and commercial insight Establish oneself as the Subject Matter Expert in the relevant area of expertise Manage the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of a collection of strategic projects and reports Manage stakeholder relationships adeptly and aligning expectations Uphold stringent standards of accuracy and governance to ensure the integrity and reliability of data-driven insights


To be successful in this role you should have:



Demonstrable coding experience required as essential - experience with BigQuery, SQL & Google Cloud Strong analytical reasoning skills Highly developed analytical skills to extract information from data and translate to business language and financial impacts An ability to shape projects from inception and contribute own ideas An ability to manage own time effectively to ensure delivery of multiple projects Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to influence, communicate analysis and recommendations to colleagues at different levels of the organization Stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex technical solutions to audiences of different technical knowledge and understanding Attention to detail and the enthusiasm to different analytical capabilities

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham or Swansea.
