Job summary




We are looking for a Principal Engineer ? Electrification and Power, to join our team of Power, Control and Command Systems engineering experts for Electrical Power, Telecoms and Railway Signalling. We support our Operations, Economic and Safety colleagues to ensure a safe, sustainable and reliable railway.###

Job description




Reporting to the Head of Power, Control and Command Systems, the role is primarily dealing with holding infrastructure managers (IM?s) such as Network Rail and High Speed 1 to account for the asset management of Electrical & Power systems. The role provides opportunities to work with the industry to help shape the progression of Electrical & Power systems to a more sustainable future and a reliable railway. The job holder will be working with other ORR departments to provide expert opinion during investigations and Periodic Reviews and be a key part of the Infrastructure Authorisation process.###

Additional Information




At ORR, our hybrid working means that we currently work from our workplace location a minimum of 40% of our working week, although requirements to attend other offsite locations for official business, also count towards this level of attendance. Working arrangements are subject to continuous review.

Qualifications




Hold a minimum of an HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering or related discipline and are a Chartered Engineer###
