Job Title: Principal Engineer - Site Engineering Authority

Location: Barrow-in-Furness \xe2\x80\x93 we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements

Salary: From \xc2\xa343,373 (depending on skills and experience)

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing:

\xc2\xb7 Creating plans through life asset management defining fit for purpose maintenance strategies & prioritised investment demands to enable the site assets to deliver the site strategic objectives

\xc2\xb7 Providing independent Engineering Authority across all Site & Facilities Assets on behalf of Subs Engineering Director issuing Engineering Advice Notice for any breaches or potential breaches of Regulatory or internal SHE arrangements

\xc2\xb7 Providing technical engineering advice & support to the maintenance, operations & project teams

\xc2\xb7 Providing coaching and mentoring to junior engineers

\xc2\xb7 Producing / approving engineering functional requirements, accepting design solution, maintaining engineering oversight, validating engineering integrity, protecting & maintaining engineering baseline for all projects on Site & Facilities assets

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

\xc2\xb7 Degree qualified in a STEM subject, or equivalent engineering, maintenance, or operational experience

\xc2\xb7 Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships, people management and leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams

\xc2\xb7 Experience in managing scopes of work to challenging schedules

\xc2\xb7 Broad engineering background with good understanding of key legal obligations for managing large manufacturing facilities & assets

Desirable

\xc2\xb7 An understanding of Asset Management principles

The Site Engineering Authority Team:

This is an exciting time to take up a new engineering challenge in a thriving Defence industry. In this role you will have the engineering authority and technical ownership for assigned areas/ systems to ensure that asset condition and performance is understood and controlled in line with business policy. This will involve managing present and future asset performance covering all the stages of a system/facility lifecycle across Projects, Operations and Maintenance. You will have the chance to further your engineering career, working on high value, complex programmes, alongside future promotion opportunities in technical leadership or engineering management.
