.Job Title: Principal Design Engineer - Design Change

Salary: 47,271+ depending on experience



What you'll be doing:



Producing and reviewing technical guidance documentation for In-Service Submarine Alterations and Additions, Class Modifications, and Minor Trials, ensuring adherence to all aspects of the MOD design change process KP 2.31 Carry out investigation and review of technical design change information/proposals Carry out design change Safety & Environmental Assessment documentation review for both In-Service and Build community Submarines Provide input to training courses to support learning from experience, drive continuous improvement and promote a positive safety and quality culture Conduct trend analysis of incidents, events and present the findings from completed investigations to identify themes and trends Acting as customer liaison, you will attend monthly meetings with Senior Stakeholders and provide project updates
Your skills and experiences:



Essential:


A background in Mechanical/Electrical engineering Previous experience with Project Management controls A minimum of HNC qualification
Desirable:


Experienced in CAD - Preferably SolidWorks Experience working within the Submarine sector Defence related design experience

The In-Service Design Change Team:



As the Principal Engineer you will have the opportunity to not only work on but run and lead your own projects. You will be working autonomously and as part of a team, to help with making changes to the benefit of not only the whole department but overall Submarine programme. During your projects, you will also be able to visit In-Service Submarines in support of design change tasks and to develop your own skill set and experience. You will also have opportunities to develop yourself and build a lasting career with BAE Systems
