We are engaged in the design, development, manufacture and test of niche products for the aerospace and defence industries. Principal products include aircraft crew seating, executive passenger seating, galley inserts, salt bath brazed chassis and electronic power management systems.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:



To deliver stress and reliability support across galley insert and seating programmes, ensuring robust, timely outcomes from development through to production.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Develop the integrity of Ipeco products (including actuators, galley inserts, and seats) through use of appropriate analysis methods, including but not limited to structural analysis (classical methods and FEA), reliability analysis, and system safety analysis. Review issues during development or in-service, assist in determining root cause(s) and contribute to the development of solutions and corrective actions. Define and oversee development tests to assist in development of product integrity. Witness testing activities, ensuring tests are conducted in accordance with the applicable test plans. Maintain and develop in-house technical capabilities and tools required to support ongoing product integrity improvements, including but not limited to FEA, reliability, analysis, and material selection. Prepare technical data required in order to support programme technical documentation requirements (e.g. stress reports, reliability reports, test plans, test reports, etc). Assist programme and engineering teams with the creation of qualification and verification test plans and reports, and support programme and design reviews as appropriate. Act as the customer focal for stress and reliability issues on projects. Identify and manage external resources to support product integrity activities as required. Identify and assist in the training and development of personnel. Assist in identifying methods for continuous improvements. Ensure all Company Policies and Procedures are adhered to. Ensure the working environment is safe for the activities to be carried out and that employees are working in a safe manner. Responsible for ensuring that all Company Health and Safety policies are being correctly observed. Ensure all Company rules and regulations are met and to initiate appropriate corrective action and/or the Company disciplinary procedures when required. To carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:



Degree (BEng / MEng / MSc) in Engineering or Physical Science Extensive post-graduate industrial experience Knowledge of linear finite element analysis Knowledge of structural analysis by classical methods Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:



GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C or above Previous experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or other regulated industries Knowledge of Explicit dynamic finite element analysis Experience of ESI Pamcrash and ESI Visual Environment Experience of MathCAD Experience of occupant kinematics simulation Knowledge of reliability engineering (FMECA, FTA etc.) Project Management skills
