Argus Consulting has two divisions. One undertakes tailor-made commissioned assignments for a wide variety of clients and across various sectors including oil & gas, petrochemicals, fertilizers, hydrogen, biofuels and energy transition solutions. The other division provides regular subscription services, again to a wide variety of clients and across a similar range of sectors. This role is part of the subscription services division.

What we're looking for




As part of the continued expansion of our practice, we are currently looking for a passionate, driven and energetic subject matter expert, to help develop our client offerings in the fields of gas and power.


This is an excellent opportunity to drive the ongoing improvement of existing product, the European Natural Gas Outlook, and to define and lead our approach to developing our Gas practice. We have ambitious plans to build out our existing coverage, providing a platform that will support the launch of new products and services and help serve our clients' requirements for bespoke project work.


This is a senior level role that will also support Argus in building its brand and commercial presence in the market, working alongside other functions of the business to achieve these aims.


What will you be doing





Act as gas subject matter expert in support of all Consulting products and services, both subscription and non-subscription


Help to position Argus as a thought leader in the market, through support to business development, commercial and marketing efforts and by representing Argus Consulting to the industry


Coordinate with other teams across Argus to ensure a consistent Argus view on the gas/LNG markets is presented externally


Support delivery and development of the European Natural Gas Outlook, working alongside the existing team, and providing content and analysis on a monthly basis


Direct the development of Argus' gas data and modelling, working with others in the team to develop and enhance our view of future gas fundamentals. Play a leading role in future commercialisation of this data


Contribute to development of Consulting view on ways in which gas and power markets will develop through energy transition. Input to future planned Energy Transition services


Ensure that knowledge and data generated by Consulting is available to, and used by, the wider Argus business

What we're looking for in you




Graduate/Master's degree from a top tier university


Very strong understanding of Gas and Power and associated markets, gained through 15+ years in the industry


Confident and experienced in forecasting the outlook for Gas markets, for market fundamentals and price


Solid commercial focus, with experience of designing and delivering analysis services that meet the requirements of customers


Capable of representing Argus at senior levels, confident speaking about subject area


Intellectually curious and able to demonstrate structured problem solving and analytical skills


Highly numerate. Experience of analysing data quickly and meticulously, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy focus. Exceptional focus on quality


Strong verbal and written communication skills


Flexible in approach, highly motivated and willing to contribute to the growth of Argus Consulting Services and the wider business
