Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Engineer with experience in Highways Structures/Bridges to join a client in Berkshire. Your main duties include preparing and implementing maintenance schemes and programmes of work, overseeing all aspects of the authority's bridge stock, evaluating design and construction proposals and ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within budget. Further duties include team leading and supervision, internal and external stakeholder liaison and acting as the technical expert on behalf of the council on all matters related to highway structures.
This is a full-time permanent position. The salary on offer is 53,000 - 58,000 + package and benefits - negotiable for the right candidate. Flexible working and working from home options are available.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, develop and implement maintenance schemes related to highway bridges and related structures
Oversee all aspects of the council's bridge stock including inspections, maintenance, construction and strengthening
Evaluate design and construction proposals submitted by outside parties
Ensuring all projects and programmes of work are delivered on time and within budget
