Job Description

We are looking for a Principal to join our Advisory team in London. STRAT7 Advisory specialises in customer-centric growth strategy. We work with senior leadership teams within some of the World's largest businesses as true Trusted Advisors, shaping strategies that work for our clients today, tomorrow and beyond. Our work spans a broad range of sectors, including CPG, Health, Financial Services, Retail + Leisure and Tech.



Our Advisory team is a small team with big ambitions where, a Principal is expected to have an entrepreneurial spirit, take the lead on a diverse range of project engagements, to successfully brief, direct and manage team members at all levels from both the Advisory team but also other practices across the STRAT7 group . A principal will also take responsibility for meeting and exceeding client expectations, with support from a Partner.



This is a

maternity cover

position for initial period of

12 months

with the potential, subject to circumstance, of the role becoming permanent after this period of time.

The role




As a Principal you are excepted to:


Manage client engagements end-to-end, including scoping, pitch, execution, delivery and ongoing relationship management


Proactively look for opportunities to collaborate with others within our group, to ensure the best perspectives and expertise is brought to each client challenge


Through successfully delivering against client briefs, on time and to a high standard, develop trusted advisor relationships, leading to new business opportunities


Take a data and methodological agnostic approach to solve client problems, comfortably utilising a range of inputs, including quant and qual research, commercial data, customer data, market data and stakeholder inputs to build an evidence base for your recommendations


Take responsibility for training and oversight of less experienced colleagues in these areas.


Look for opportunities to improve our practice and have the license to do so, through new business development, marketing initiatives, process improvement, team development or cultural initiatives

Desired background




Having a growth and innovation background is critical at this role. You could either working as part of an in-house strategy and innovation team or within an agency/consultancy delivering strategy and innovation workstreams for clients


Demonstrate a passion for motivating and engaging clients/stakeholders at a senior level, building trust and enthusiasm with client teams and getting the most from them


You should bring a deep experience in workshop facilitation, incorporating ideation and co-creation techniques


Have the ability to synthetise diverse perspectives and data sources into clear conclusions and recommendations for clients/senior stakeholders


Possess strong analytical skills, with exposure to a broad range of data inputs including quantitative and qualitative research, market and commercial data sources


Demonstrate pragmatism in client recommendations, balancing the customer opportunity with commercial and operational realities


Enjoy problem solving, like to get stuck in, not afraid to challenge the thinking but with respect and compassion


Have a natural curiosity for how consumers think and human behaviour. Be able to make the link between evidence and commercial opportunity


A proven experience in brand and portfolio strategy would also be desirable
