Job title: Principal Management Accountant

Location: Farnborough

QinetiQ, an innovative science and technology organisation are currently looking to recruit a Principal Management Accountant to join their growing Financial Services team. This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Accountant to step up into a team management role with global reach.

About the role

As a member of the UK Shared Services team, provide support, leadership and expertise to Financial Services delivering planned or requested activities which will depend on the requirements of the individual task in order to effectively deliver high quality services to our customers.

What will I be doing?

• To ensure timely and accurate reporting at all times, taking ownership, responsibility and accountability for the delivery of the Business Finance month end close and reporting.
• To ensure top level understanding of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, able to review and sign it off
• To lead and support the Forecasting, Budgeting and planning process- Responsible and accountable.
• To review Stat packs, statutory reporting requirements provide high levels of accounting insight, assessing risk/opportunities
• Opportunity to manage a junior team and be responsible for their numbers, and their expectations and performance
• To act as business partner with for the business and help with process improvement and system advocate

What do I need?

• Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously and manage a diverse team
• Part Qualified/QBE or Qualified CIMA/ACCA: relevant Finance experience is required
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills associated with working at a cross-functional level
• Team Management is desirable but not essential
• Self-motivated, thorough, disciplined and detail focused Abilities
• Ability to adapt pace of delivery to meet business requirements with continuous improvement approach
• Highly customer focused in meeting and exceeding customer expectations
