Rhondda Cynon Taff CBC wish to appoint a Catering Principal Officer to work at Valleys Innovation Centre in Abercynon to complement our existing team.



Catering Services is a busy frontline service providing a school meals service to 111 schools, plus the Council's Community Meals service

.





Catering Services are incorporated into the 21st Century Schools & Transformation Division. This diverse catering team boasts a portfolio of many skillsets, which link together to support and co-ordinate the daily delivery of School meals & the Community Meals service, and other projects within Rhondda Cynon Taf.


Main duties/responsibilities:



To be responsible for the management of the Primary school meals service.




Effective and efficient management of all resources. Regularly review school staff bandings to ensure the correct staff numbers are employed. Responsible for the line management of staff, in line with the scheme of delegation. This includes recruitment, induction, training, sickness absence, performance, disciplinary etc, in accordance with Council Policies. Proactively set up systems that ensure accurate data is recorded and is readily available for management information, trend analysis etc, and is used to improve the service provision and customer satisfaction. Ensure sites are compliant with all policies and procedures. Ensure systems are in place to allow regular site monitoring visits and resolve any issues raised. Keep up to date with legislative changes affecting the sector and national projects/trends. Ensure HACCP is adhered to and take action to improve and maintain Environmental Health Scores on Doors awarded. Record and present accurate management information data. Be actively involved in any service change, kitchen planning, design etc. Produce and deliver marketing plans with the Business Manager.

The successful candidate will

: -



Be educated to a degree level (or equivalent), or be able to demonstrate relevant competencies, hold a Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety with evidence of recent relevant Professional development.



Will have experience of line managing staff within a catering environment, and of multi-site catering operations. Possess health and safety knowledge and be capable of planning and managing budgets.
