The Principal Consultant is responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation of Oracle Fusion Payroll solutions. This role requires deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Payroll, strong leadership abilities, and the capacity to design and configure solutions that meet complex business requirements. As the lead of the payroll implementation team, the Principal Consultant will also be expected to mentor and develop team members, setting and upholding quality standards across projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Project Delivery and Solution Design
- Lead and participate in the implementation of Oracle Fusion Payroll modules
- Analyse business requirements and design payroll solutions, including configurations and integrations
- Define payroll processing strategies, including payroll calculations, costing, retro-pay, and year-end processing
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead the development and growth of the payroll implementation team, ensuring skill-building, knowledge sharing, and ongoing professional development
- Establish and maintain quality standards across the payroll implementation process
- Mentor and guide team members to ensure consistent and high-quality delivery
Payroll Compliance and Process Expertise
- Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international payroll regulations
- Implement solutions that align with best practices in payroll management, taxation, and reporting
Client Engagement and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with clients to understand payroll needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams to ensure successful integration with other HCM modules
Configuration and Implementation Management
- Configure payroll elements, formulas, and earnings definitions within Oracle Fusion payroll
- Oversee data migration, payroll testing, and validations to ensure accurate results
User Support and Change Management
- Provide post-go-live support and resolve issues related to payroll processing and reporting
- Develop training materials and deliver workshops for payroll administrators and users
Product Development and Innovation
- Collaborate with product management to provide insights from payroll implementations
- Suggest product enhancements and contribute to the development of new features
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in payroll processing
Compliance and Risk Management
- Stay current on payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory compliance

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Remote/hybrid working location, but depending on where you live, you will have a base location at our head office in Langstone, Wales or at our satellite office in Guildford, Surrey
Travel will be required to our offices and client sites as the project requires. If you are successful for this position you will be expected to travel as necessary, which may include overnight stays away from your home location
Standard Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) including Disclosure Barring Scotland (DBS) is a minimum requirement for all roles. This will be completed as part of pre-employment checks by de Novo's third party supplier Credence. Security Clearance (SC) may also be required; where this is not held candidates must be willing to go through this process

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an up-to-date certification for Oracle Fusion Payroll. If certification has not been achieved, or is out of date, evidence of successful implementations is required, and there is an expectation that certification will be achieved in the probation period.
Additionally, proficiency in one or more modules like Absence Management, Time and Labour, or Workforce Compensation is desirable.
