This is a fantastic opportunity to join HCA Healthcare's new MR-Linac service, as the Principal Physicist (MR-Linac & SABR). An Elekta Unity MR-Linac, which is currently under construction, is due to go live in Q1 2026. The Principal Physicist (MR-Linac & SABR) is the Medical Physics Expert responsible for developing and overseeing medical physics aspects of the stereotactic radiotherapy (SABR) service across the the Elekta Unity MR-Linac and conventional linac platforms. In this role you will work with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to provide cutting edge adaptive radiotherapy and highly accurate SABR treatments on all platforms..
Duties:
Management of all technical aspects of medical physics as it pertains to the MR Linac and SABR services
Responsible for the technical accuracy of SABR treatments across the MR-Linac and conventional linac platforms
Implement service developments across the MR Linac and SABR services
Support in the appropriate course of action in highly complex situations which may impact the service delivery
Providing effective clinical leadership for staff working in the MR-Linac and SABR services

What you'll bring:
HCPC registration
Ability to act as a Medical Physics Expert for Radiotherapy as defined in IR(ME)R 2017
Masters degree in relevant scientific, technical, or healthcare related discipline
Advanced theoretical & practical knowledge of ionising radiation and radiotherapy physics
Advanced knowledge and experience of stereotactic treatment planning and associated quality assurance and radiation dosimetry requirements
Desirable:
Experience of MR Linac technology
Line management experience
