Job summary
Britain's energy networks are expanding faster than ever to deliver the infrastructure needed for a clean power system by 2030. Ofgem is looking for an Infrastructure Delivery Expert (Electricity Transmission) to help ensure an unprecedented programme of investment is delivered efficiently, effectively and in the best interests of consumers.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to play a central role in strengthening Ofgem's capability to oversee and question how Transmission Operators (TOs) deliver more than 20bn of critical network upgrades. You'll be part of a growing team focused on understanding project and programme risks, identifying delivery blockers early, and ensuring that appropriate regulatory interventions are made to keep major investments on track.
You'll assess and advise on the performance of complex energy projects, supporting senior leaders to make well-informed, timely decisions, and providing both technical and strategic recommendations that help ensure Britain's networks evolve to meet future demand.

Essential Criteria
Proven leadership in the delivering critical infrastructure projects, including public sector procurement and commercial contract management, and able to act as a trusted expert to advise and challenge senior stakeholders on strategic operation and performance, with a strong focus on presenting risks, trade-offs, and broader commercial and economic implications to decision makers
(LEAD)
The candidate should have, a solid background in the regulation and/or the energy sector, a professional understanding of regulatory approaches, energy policy, generation and/or network businesses and relevant regulatory experience

Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills, with the ability to distill complex subject matter into clear, relevant messages for non-expert audiences. Skilled at building effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, fostering cooperative, constructive, and transparent engagement across all levels
