MHR is offering an exciting opportunity for a Principal QA Engineer to join one of our innovative software delivery teams. This is a fantastic time to join, we have ambitious plans to grow our market leading HR and Payroll SaaS solution and are revising our quality and test automation strategy to match.

Your Impact:



Lead enterprise-scale quality and test engineering decisions Design and optimise test automation for complex systems Uplift QA Engineering excellence Drive technology choices to enable fast paced and high-quality delivery Note: the successful candidate will primarily focus on our Performance Testing strategy and capabilities

Essential Skills & Experience (you need these to be considered)



Experience using an object-oriented software language Experience using version control tools, branching strategies, following and improving coding standards Experience designing, developing and managing test automation frameworks for DevOps Pipelines for a range of testing problems: UI, API, Functionality, Performance, Usability, Reliability, Compatibility Expertise in designing both Functional and Performance test strategies including entire applications and sub-components e.g. APIs Technical leadership experience: setting and managing clear standards, patterns and best practice at a department level; engaging in the technical development of others

Desirable Skills & Experience



Experience testing decoupled or asynchronous application architecture e.g. event/message driven Playwright, Typescript, K6 (key elements of our testing frameworks) 'Driven Design' practices e.g. TDD / BDD / DDD Software Engineering experience e.g. contributing to feature development in a fungible agile team

Our business and software are built on the following, experience in any of these areas would be a distinct advantage:


Java, C#, .net & Typescript or their derivatives Azure cloud platform, DevOps, Application Insights Angular REST APIs Relational Databases Event driven architecture HR and/or Payroll and/or Business Accounting legislation

PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid role with 3 days on-site in our Ruddington office, and candidates must be in commutable distance of the office.
