Knowsley Council's Exchequer Services plays a vital role in safeguarding the financial health of the authority while supporting our residents. We manage key income streams and ensure compliance with legislation, helping the Council deliver high-quality services to the community.



We are seeking a dynamic Principal Revenues Manager to lead two specialist teams delivering critical services:

Sundry Debtors & Reconciliation Team

Responsible for recovering income for goods and services provided by the Council, including commercial rents and social care charges, and ensuring all income streams--such as Council Tax, Business Rates, and sundry debtors--are accurately allocated and reconciled.

Financial Assessment & Charging Team

Working closely with Adult Social Care to assess client contributions under the Care Act 2014 and supporting residents to maximise welfare benefits.



As Principal Revenues Manager, you will:


Provide leadership and operational oversight to both teams. Drive service improvements and implement legislative changes. Maintain robust quality assurance and compliance standards. Collaborate with senior managers and external partners to deliver corporate priorities and maximise income. Deputise for the Service Manager and contribute to shaping future service delivery.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled professional who can demonstrate:


Ability to interpret and implement government legislation and policies. Proven leadership and people management skills Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
