This role can be located in either the Oxford or Cambridge office.





As part of our ongoing expansion, EnSilica are looking to strengthen our RFIC and analog mixed signal design team. We are looking for bright candidates who have an enthusiasm and aptitude for working in this vital part of our business.





Working attached to our Oxford or Cambridge offices, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a strong academic record with a sound understanding of design principles, and experience of multiple RF, analog or mixed-signal IP/ASIC/SoC developments from definition to production.





Your Key Responsibilities



Full involvement in RF analog/mixed-signal circuit design flow from definition and specification to production/IP delivery Detailed design and simulation RF, analog/mixed signal IC blocks - e.g. + LNA, PA, VCO, mixers, modulators, oscillators
+ Data converters
+ References, amplifiers, regulators, charge-pumps, switched or continuous time filters/amplifiers, LDOs, DC-DC etc.
+ High voltage drivers
+ Sensor interface and instrumentation circuits
Higher level integration of these circuits IC design peer reviewing and team working RF/Analog subsystem technical responsibility + Mentoring of junior engineering staff
Top level IP/IC/SoC RF, analogue/mixed-signal performance and functional verification Planning and supervision of circuit physical implementation Post layout extraction and simulation and RF, analog/mixed-signal block integration sign-off Definition and involvement in silicon evaluation and production test for RF analog/mixed signal blocks RF/Analog subsystem design and modelling + Behaviour modelling and system modelling
Working with a multi-disciplined SoC design teams including digital, software, production, test and application engineers Working with marketing and some customer facing activities



Your Key Skills and Experience



Good Bachelors Degree in Electronic Engineering or related discipline, relevant Analogue/Mixed-Signal IC design MSc or PhD preferred Experience in RFIC/Analogue/Mixed Signal schematic design in CMOS > 10 years of experience design in custom RFIC circuits, specifically in one or more the following areas: + Wireless communication transceivers: LNA, PA, Mixers/modulators, Oscillators from LF to mmWave
+ Integrated passive circuits: magnetics, transmission lines, baluns, transformers
+ High speed serial interfaces
+ Analog blocks: references, amplifiers, filters
+ Mixed signal blocks: data convertors, DC-DC, class D amplifiers
Experience in IC layout and physical implementation Demonstrable experience of multiple full IC/SoC design cycle from definition to volume production Experienced in CAD tools: + Cadence Virtuoso Platform: RF, analog and AMS simulation Explorer/Assembler, Spectre/APS/X, AFS.
+ Cadence Virtuoso Layout XL, Calibre xRC/xACT, Cadence Quantus
+ Keysight ADS , RFpro, Momentum
+ EMIR and thermal modeling tools an advantage
+ Linux, MS Office, Version control: SoS & SubVersion/Git
Hands on knowledge of RF analog and mixed signal evaluation and test Up to date on RF/analog/mixed-signal IC design techniques and design methodologies RF/Analog/mixed system modelling: e.g. SystemVerilog, VerilogAMS Beneficial experience: + System knowledge of a wireless standard; i.e. 3GPP/LTE/5G, IEEE802.11, IEEE802.15, DVB-S2X/RCS2 etc.
+ System design, modelling or data analysis using Matlab, Octave, Excel, Keysight SystemVue.
+ Experience in RF/AMS IP delivery, RTL, DSP, CMOS process/PDK development, RF/AMS production test beneficial
FinFET or SOI custom IC design

Position Specifics
