, you will play a key role within the structural team. You will be responsible for the delivery of complex structural engineering projects, mentoring engineers and technicians, engaging directly with clients and stakeholders, and contributing to the strategic development of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of a wide range of structural engineering projects from concept through to construction.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers, graduates, and technicians within the team.
Undertake structural analysis and design in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry to British Standards and Eurocodes.
Lead project teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, MEP engineers, planners, and contractors.
Oversee the preparation of calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings to high technical and quality standards.
Assist with the management of project resources, budgets, and programmes to ensure successful project delivery.
Act as the main client liaison on projects, ensuring excellent client service and repeat business.
Support business development, fee proposals, and bid preparation activities.
Contribute to internal technical reviews, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements
Essential:
BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE or IStructE.
Proven track record of successfully delivering medium to large-scale building projects.
Strong technical knowledge of UK building regulations, design codes (Eurocodes, BS), and construction techniques.
Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
Commercial awareness with the ability to assist with managing project budgets and resources effectively.
Proficient in structural analysis and design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, ETABS, Robot, TEDDS, or similar.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Desirable:
Knowledge of BIM workflows and Revit integration.
Sector-specific experience within concrete frame, Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) and Build to Rent (BTR) sectors.
Involvement in business development or client relationship management.
Participation in industry groups, committees, or technical publications.
