The Analytics & Advisory (A&A) part of the Consulting business is leading innovation through data and technology, enhancing our clients' business operations and processes. We provide solutions that derive insights, improve decision-making, and define a digital strategy that supports their vision, transforming and enabling them to become leaders in a rapidly changing technology and data landscape.



We have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer to support the growth and development of new workstreams in the Operational Technology market. As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will work with a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team, high-profile clients, and external contractors therefore good communication and people skills are essential. You will be reporting to the Operational Technology Practice Lead.


The role:





A&A uses a flexible and agile approach to systems engineering and are enthusiastic about the use of new technologies. As a Principal Systems Engineer with us, you will develop and deliver solutions to meet and exceed client's expectations using leading edge technology and innovation. Key responsibilities include:


Working with high-profile clients to establish their requirements and aspirations Evaluating appropriate technologies and produce option reports with recommendations Driving projects forward by developing unique solutions to unchallenged problems in infrastructure Developing designs in accordance with client's requirements and relevant design standards to achieve cost effective solutions Leading a team of systems, SCADA and test engineers to ensure client delivery expectations are met Working with the OpTech Practice Lead and Delivery Directors to develop proposals for future clients in the Operational Technology market space Creating and develop relationships with high-profile clients up to director level to gain new work and expand commissions.



What you will bring to us:




Current/previous knowledge of UK Network Rail GRIP design and construction industry RIBA methodologies Experience in the co-ordination of the design process and management of design resource Extensive post qualification experience in any of the following fields, SCADA, Customer Information Systems, CCTV Systems, networking technologies, Cyber Security Good communication skills Good documentation skills (e.g. FDS, SDS, O&M manuals) Experience in or an appreciation for the full system integration project lifecycle (specification, design, develop, test, installation and commissioning) Experience in designing and implementing server and network infrastructure (including virtual environments, Modbus protocol, SQL server) Ability to represent A&A in multi-disciplinary project teams.



Desirable:




Experience in the rail, highways or utilities industry Experience of bid process and tender response process Experience participating in design reviews and acting as design authority
