The Principal temporary works Designer (Contractors Responsible Engineer) will manage efficient deployment of Field Quality Engineers providing controlled direction, support and mentorship to ensure all site engineering activities are safely delivered to high accuracy, quality and technically assured. To provide regular status reporting, problem solving and management in collaboration with the CEM
What you'll be doing
Confirm that the discipline design and / or construction complies with all applicable
standards, legislation, contract requirements and specifications.
Manage the interface between design, construction and testing activities, whether
it is a single appointment or multiple appointments for the single discipline
Participate in the Interdisciplinary Design Check meetings (IDCs) with other discipline Contractors Responsible Engineers to confirm that their design and the construction interfaces correctly with all other designs and construction activities and is safe to construct.
The discipline CRE accountable for design shall provide information on any significant risks to avoid and eliminate foreseeable risks to construction, operation and maintenance including demolition.
All CREs accountable for the design shall implement all design, checking, mentorship and shall approve and endorse the design to confirm it has been achieved.
Who we're looking for
Relevant experience in a similar role gained from either the Rail or Civil Engineering industries.
Good resource management and priority decision maker
High customer focus and passionate right first time approach
Ability to undertake performance improvement action where required.
MICE CEng (preferred)
HNC / HND Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
Collaborative and influential leadership skills
Knowledge of site engineering practices and equipment
Excellent managerial skills & IT proficient
Good programme commercial and personable acumen.
