The Role




As Principal Electrical Engineer, you will lead and shape the delivery of advanced electrical systems across our motorcycle platforms. In this pivotal role, you will provide technical leadership, cross-functional coordination, and team mentorship, ensuring that all projects meet performance, quality, and timing targets. As the first deputy to the Chief Engineer, you will help define our technical roadmap and drive innovation in next-generation motorcycle electronics.

Duties/Responsibilities




Leading a team of multidisciplined Electrical Engineers to meet business objectives Providing technical leadership and oversight across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices Approving hardware and Software requirements for the Electrical system (working with system architects, design and the product management team) Conducting feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design reviews Approving design direction and approval of concepts, designs, drawings Collaborating with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and systems engineers Developing and maintaining Technology Roadmap for Electrical systems Working closely with the Engineering validation team to plan feature testing and support the hardware and software validation Contributing to the definition of the software development and integration process Management of Engineering Service Suppliers and Tier 1 Suppliers to meet project Cost, Quality and Timing deliverables Working with other Engineers on the optimal locations / packaging of any items where required based on internal and external requirements Managing ESP and suppliers Supporting project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation Working with other departments in the selection of suitable suppliers and components Managing project documentation and reporting Acting first deputy for the Chief Engineer in their absence Identifying training and development needs and promoting appropriate actions Working with the wider electrical team to develop functional specifications and requirements for modules Overseeing and managing the performance and development of varying levels of design engineers

Personal Specification



Proven experience in a senior or principal electrical engineering role, ideally within the automotive or motorcycle industry Strong technical understanding of electrical system architectures, ECU design, power management, and vehicle integration Track record of leading engineering teams and managing cross-functional technical programs Experience working with Tier 1 suppliers and managing external engineering service partners In-depth understanding of hardware/software interfaces, vehicle communication networks, and system validation Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262) and embedded systems development Familiarity with CAN, LIN, and diagnostic protocols Experience with tools such as Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, requirements management software, and CAD systems
