We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Pharmacist (Band 7) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care across clinical settings. This position demands strong clinical judgement, communication skills, and a dedication to promoting patient safety and medicines optimisation.
Responsibilities
Deliver expert pharmaceutical care and advice to patients and healthcare professionals.
Review and clinically screen prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and safety.
Support medicines reconciliation, discharge planning, and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
Promote compliance with national guidelines, local policies, and relevant governance frameworks.
Supervise and support the development of junior pharmacy staff and trainees.
Undertake audits and contribute to service evaluation and quality improvement projects.
Provide specialist input into prescribing practices and contribute to formulary development.
Requirements
Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacist.
Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to apply clinical knowledge to practice, ensuring safe and effective medication use.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with clinical teams and patients.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure environments.
Confidence with pharmacy IT systems and electronic prescribing tools (preferred but not essential).
