The Privacy Team acts as a technical resource to the Group, providing advice and assistance with the practical consequences of complying with relevant obligations, including interpretation of relevant laws, and guidance on the implementation of internal policies and procedures. The role reports into the Head of Privacy for Informa Connect, Informa Markets and Informa Tech. The Privacy function ultimately reports into the Group Chief Privacy Officer (CPO). The CPO is responsible for the maintenance, execution and enforcement of the Group Privacy Programme including Groupwide policy, framework, guidance and standards for all teams and colleagues.

We are looking for a hardworking, motivated and friendly Privacy Manager to join the event led Divisional privacy team. The role reports into the Head of Privacy for Informa Connect, Informa Markets and Informa Tech and will work closely with Privacy Analysts to provide professional, commercially balanced, high-quality advice and drive forward the initiatives of the Group\'s Data Privacy programme.

As a Privacy Manager serving the event led divisions, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation on projects to ensure that privacy by design principles are applied and that risks are reviewed, assessed, and managed appropriately. This role will have responsibility for providing guidance on key strategic projects as well as the management of established privacy processes, working with a wide number of internal teams (Global Technology, HR, Corporate Travel, Legal, InfoSec) to ensure we are compliant with applicable regulations and maintain a high standard of compliance resilience across the Divisions we support.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience applying European marketing rules and implementing a privacy and marketing permission requirements within a global business.

This role is suited to an experienced data privacy professional with the ability to bring both legal and operational expertise to their role. The successful candidate will need experience in working with Marketing, Technology and digital functions with the ability to multi-task, and take a pragmatic, risk-based approach to data protection compliance in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Lead and deliver core initiatives of the Privacy programme including managing rights requests, undertaking Privacy Impact Assessments and providing privacy advice to the business.

\xc2\xb7 Working with the Head of Privacy to support business initiatives including M&A activity. Provide professional, efficient and commercial balanced advice and support to global programmes and initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant global regulations.

\xc2\xb7 Act as a technical resource providing advice on the practical consequences of complying with relevant privacy obligations, including interpretation of relevant laws, and guidance on the implementation of internal policies, procedures and guidance.

\xc2\xb7 Develop good relationships and work closely with key contacts across various teams including Sales to ensure that policy information and supporting processes are communicated clearly and operationalised effectively.

\xc2\xb7 Lead engagement sessions and coaching with the key business functions including Sales, Marketing, HR, Operations and Information Security developing materials as needed.

\xc2\xb7 Providing analysis and advice on complex data protection queries providing pragmatic recommendations to the Business teams.

\xc2\xb7 Work with the Legal team in the review of Global legal contracts and advise where necessary on data sharing arrangements and data processing agreements.

\xc2\xb7 Lead incident and breach investigations as necessary.

\xc2\xb7 Identifying training needs then developing and delivering training to key business areas.

\xc2\xb7 Manage Data Subject Access request review and disclosure process as necessary.

\xc2\xb7 Support the Head of Privacy to assess the level of compliance maturity and privacy-related risks within Group including Risk Reporting process.

\xc2\xb7 Keep abreast of Data Privacy Law changes around the world to ensure the global privacy framework provides adequate coverage.

Ideal candidates will be individuals whose qualities and qualifications include:
  • Expertise, practical experience of interpreting and applying international data protection laws
  • Experience of delivering a wide-ranging privacy programme within a multinational business
  • Experience fostering a data protection culture within an organisation
  • Flexibility/adaptability to manage multiple wide-ranging privacy matters
  • Proven ability to manage and complete projects across multiple business units and commitment to work collaboratively with numerous stakeholders at all levels throughout an organisation
  • Excellent organisational, communication, managerial, project management and administrative skills.
  • Confident team player with a proactive attitude and a focus on delivery and strong communication
  • Resilient and ability to work in a changing environment
  • CIPP-E or similar qualification, legal background would be an advantage
